0AW / VL380 / VL381

0AW - The 8-speed continuously variable transmission was released by Audi in 2004. Installed for AWD models (Audi A3, A4, A5, A6, A7) with petrol engines with a capacity from 1.8L to 3L. It is the successor of the 01J gearbox. VL381 is a modification produced in 2007. There are many differences between 0AW and 01J and they have few spare parts (friction and steel discs, etc.). The principle of operation is the same. In 0AW, the electrics and controller have been significantly improved. It transmits very high torque for a CVT gearbox, up to 400 Nm.
